Tapestry Day Club is a charity that provides the opportunity for people in Surrey and West Sussex with early-stage dementia to enjoy an engaging and enjoyable day out in small groups within the family home of one of our wonderful hosts on a regular basis, in some areas up to three times per week.
Included in the day are all refreshments, a two-course, home-cooked lunch and optional memory-boosting activities tailored to the interests of individual guests. Our hosts are carefully vetted and fully trained. And transport is generally available, too.
Our host will be there to make the day an enjoyable experience with refreshments, a delicious two-course lunch, social activities and optional games. Everything is designed to offer a welcoming and informal atmosphere where guests can relax, make new friends and share memories.
Could you provide a safe and stimulating place in your home for between two and six guests? Would you like to be well-remunerated while knowing you are making a difference to older people in your community? If yes, then you will make a great Tapestry Day Club host.
As a charity, your support is vital for us to help older people with modest means. We would love to hear from you if you or your company would like to be part of something special. Why not sponsor a guest? You could make a big difference to a family, providing a day out as well as carer respite.
Our hosts are all carefully vetted and fully trained – and love what they do
As part of a community-minded organisation, they invite guests into their family homes and arrange engaging activities for people with early-stage dementia, providing a sociable experience in a relaxed environment.
The name, Tapestry Day Club, encapsulates the idea that everyone has a life story, a rich tapestry of experiences and treasured memories.
Founded in 2019 to support people with early-stage dementia, the charity helps older people to remain in their homes as long as possible and gives carers a much-needed break.
